Since its incorporation in July 1958, the United Way of Boone County has been an organization committed to improving the lives of Boone County, Illinois residents by sharing community resources. Every dollar raised remains local to our community helping those people who need our help the most.

UNITED WAY OF AMERICA
United Way of America is a national network of more than 1,300 locally governed organizations dedicated to leading the United Way movement. United Way engages each community to identify the underlying causes of the most challenging local issues, develop strategies, and bring together financial and human resources to address these issues. United Way of America has an established Standards of Excellence, a comprehensive description of aspirational benchmark standards and best practices that are designed to enhance the overall effectiveness of the 1,350 United Way affiliates. They reflect the organization's fundamental shift from its traditional role as a "pass through" fund raising organization to working with community leaders to identify and address long-term needs and improve people's lives.

United Way of Illinois is an association of United Ways representing communities across Illinois. The organization strengthens the United Way movement in Illinois through service to its members and advocacy for effective health and human services policies for the people of Illinois.
